Marina Nakamura (中村 真里奈, Nakamura Marina, born February 7, 1987) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Miyazaki who is signed to 5pb.. Marina debuted in 2010 singing songs for the anime TV series Angel Beats! as one of two vocalists for the fictional band Girls Dead Monster. In May 2013, she made her major solo debut with the release of her single "Kimi Tsunagu".

Career

Marina had an interest in singing from a young age, and participated in singing contests in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. In 2010, Marina made her debut singing songs composed by Jun Maeda for the anime series Angel Beats! as one of two vocalists for the fictional in-story band Girls Dead Monster. Marina was the vocalist for the character Masami Iwasawa, and the second vocalist, LiSA, sang as the character Yui. As Girls Dead Monster, Marina put out two singles in 2010 on Key's record label Key Sounds Label. The first single "Crow Song" was released on April 23, and the second single "Last Song" was released on December 8. Marina made her first appearance at the 2010 Animelo Summer Live on August 28.

Marina station

Marina is a station in the Barcelona Metro and Trambesòs tram networks, at the boundary between the Eixample and Sant Martí districts of Barcelona. It is served by TMB line L1 and tram route T4. The station is named after the nearby Carrer de la Marina, and can be accessed from Carrer dels Almogàvers, and the crossing of Carrer de la Marina with the Avinguda Meridiana. It is adapted for disabled people.

The metro station opened in 1933, as the terminus of an extension from Arc de Triomf station, and became a through station in 1951, when line L1 was extended to Clot station. When built, the station's platforms were located below the sidings of the former Estació del Nord railway station, and as a consequence they are now below the Parc de l'Estació del Nord that has replaced these sidings. Although the Estació del Nord itself has now been converted into a bus station and sports hall, these facilities are more easily accessed from Arc de Triomf metro station. The adjacent tram station opened in 2004.

Marina District, San Francisco

The Marina District is a neighborhood located in San Francisco, California. The neighborhood sits on the site of the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition, staged after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake to celebrate the reemergence of the city. Aside from the Palace of Fine Arts (POFA), all other buildings were demolished to make the current neighborhood.

Location

The area is bounded to the east by Van Ness Avenue and Fort Mason; on the west by Lyon Street and the Presidio National Park; on the south by Cow Hollow and Lombard St, which bisects the southern edge of the Marina District. The northern half of the Marina is a shoreline of the San Francisco Bay, and features the Marina Green, a picturesque park adjacent to the municipal boat marina from which the neighborhood takes its name.

Much of the Marina is built on former landfill, and is susceptible to soil liquefaction during strong earthquakes. This phenomenon caused extensive damage to the entire neighborhood during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

.africa

.Africa is the proposed Internet generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) for the African and Pan African communities and users wherever they may reside. The .africa gTLD serves as a regional domain for individuals and entities based in and out of Africa.

Status

The .Africa gTLD has not yet been delegated to any organization as registry operator. The .Africa application that was submitted by DotConnectAfrica Trust is now the subject of an unresolved disagreement with ICANN (DCA Trust vs ICANN) following an Independent Review Panel (IRP) Process that was invoked by DCA Trust under ICANN’s accountability mechanism in October 2013. The IRP was administrated by the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) New York, US.

DCA Trust had passed all the new gTLD applicant evaluation criteria, but before the Initial Evaluation (IE) result was issued, a Governmental Advisory Committee GAC Objection Advice that had been issued in Beijing in April 2013 was later accepted by the ICANN Board in early June 2013 which caused the ICANN Board to instruct ICANN staff that DCA Trust’s .Africa new gTLD application will not be approved. This had caused the non-completion of the evaluation of DCA Trust’s application; which then led DCA Trust to challenge the ICANN Board decision through a series of accountability mechanism.

Africa (Petrarch)

Africa is an epic poem in Latin hexameters by the 14th century Italian poet Petrarch (Francesco Petrarca). It tells the story of the Second Punic War, in which the Carthaginian general Hannibal invaded Italy, but Roman forces were eventually victorious after an invasion of north Africa led by Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus, the epic poem's hero.

Background

Africa and De viris illustribus were partially inspired by Petrarch's visit to Rome in 1337. According to Bergin and Wilson (p. ix). It seems very likely that the inspirational vision of the Eternal City must have been the immediate spur to the design of the Africa and probably De viris illustribus as well. After returning from his grand tour, the first sections of Africa were written in the valley of Vaucluse. Petrarch recalls

The fact that he abandoned it early on is not entirely correct since it was far along when he received two invitations (from Rome and from Paris) in September 1340 each asking him to accept the crown as poet laureate. A preliminary form of the poem was completed in time for the laurel coronation April 8, 1341 (Easter Sunday).

Africa (Karl Wolf song)

Africa is the first official single by Lebanese Canadian singer Karl Wolf from his second studio album Bite The Bullet. The album version of the song features rapper/reggae artist Culture. The song is inspired by the worldwide hit "Africa" by Toto and samples music and covers lyrics from the chorus from the original version, providing new lyrics in place of the original's verses.

Music video

Despite the African title of the song, the music video was actually shot off the shore of Dibba, Oman. The music video for "Africa" starts off with Wolf at his secret island resort on his laptop. He gets a call with the ringtone for "Desensitize" (an earlier hit by Karl Wolf featuring Culture). Culture is on the phone informing Wolf that he is on a boat and heading toward shore to meet up with Wolf.

In the next scene, Wolf sees a sexy woman in a bikini on the beach and starts talking to her. Some other scenes in the video also take place at nighttime with Wolf, Culture, and the same sexy woman in a yellow bikini around a fireplace.
